Meet Kristen
About Your Therapist
Kristen Johns is a Marriage and Family Therapy intern currently being supervised by Alexandria Jones LCSW CST. She is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and respect. She believes that every person has a unique story and strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard.
Kristen earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University.
Her professional background includes working in mental health case management, as well as adoption and foster care. She has supported individuals facing a variety of mental health, relationships, and life-transition challenges.
Kristen's approach is client centered. She values building strong therapeutic relationships and helping clients identify their strengths while developing practical tools to improve emotional well-being and emotional regulation. She also values communication, and overall quality of life. She is a huge supporter of physical fitness for emotional well-being and believes family, environment, relationships, and self-care are important. She is committed to meeting clients where they are and supporting them on their journey toward growth, healing, and meaningful change.
